When playing as Sonic and Tails in the Special Stages, Tails will not be forced to jump when he hits a yellow Sphere, unlike Sonic. In the original game, the background music would resume from where it left off whenever it got interrupted by the 1-Up jungle. Upon obtaining a 1-Up or Coin in any level (including Special Stages), the level's background music will start over from the beginning after the jingle for the 1-Up finishes.
