The Jedi Ezra Bridger summoned a pod of purrgil to take him and Thrawn away from the battle. After taking the Dome, the base of Imperial operations, the Rebels were successful in driving the Imperial forces out of Lothal, but the victory cam with a heavy price. Sabine was instrumental in liberating the people on Lothal. It was at this point that Sabine chose to stay on Mandalore to find a leader worthy to wield the Darksaber and unite her people. When it was clear that her clan had been betrayed, Sabine faced Gar Saxon alone in one-on-one combat, ultimately defeating him. Unfortunately, the Clans were already at war with each other, and her mother had agreed to trade the Darksaber and the Jedis to Gar Saxon, the Empire-backed leader of Mandalore. Presenting her clan with the Darksaber, an ancient lightsaber created by the first Mandalorian Jedi, Sabine hoped that it would bring the clans together. Even though they had labeled her a traitor, she convinced them that she was there to help. When tensions on Mandalore grew, Sabine went back home to face her family. As an artist, Sabine’s phoenix symbol inspired the symbol for the Rebellion. For years they fought against the Empire and ultimately joined the much large Rebel cause. When the Empire ultimately used the weapon against her own people, Sabine fled Mandalore and branded a traitor by both the Empire and her own family.Īfter leaving Mandalore, Sabine was recruited by Captain Hera Syndulla and the Jedi Kanan Jarrus to join the rebel cause. She designed the Arc Pulse Generator, a weapon that could incinerate Mandalorian beskar armor, and kill wearer. There she built weapons for the Empire with the belief that they would be used for good. Sabine Wren ( Tiya Sircar) is a Mandalorian warrior, artist, and demolitions expert who, at a young age, enrolled at the Imperial Academy on Mandalore after the Clone War ended.
